In the autumn of 2004 and again in the spring of 2008 I was able to join two cruises which included Suez Canal transits. In November 2004 I sailed south from Alexandria to Mombasa, Kenya on the 10000-ton, 208-passenger Seabourn Spirit; and in May 2008 I sailed north during an Africa circumnavigation cruise on Holland America Line’s 38000-ton, 793-passenger Prinsendam. The Suez Canal was constructed by forced labor at a cost of USD 100 million over a 10 1/2-year period by Ferdinand de Lesseps’ Universal Company for the Suez Maritime Canal, which was formed in 1858. The canal was opened on November 17, 1869 by the French Empress Eugenie. 163 km (101 miles) long and 600 meters (1968 feet) wide in its narrowest stretch, the canal links the Mediterranean at Port Said to the Red Sea at Suez. With an average transit time of 15 hours, the canal saves ships 11829 km (7350 miles) compared to the circumnavigation of Africa. The Suez Canal, which has no locks, accommodates about 50 ships daily and is capable of handling up to 80 ships in a single day. The current maximum draft allowed is 16 meters (53 feet), and modifications now underway should increase this to 22 meters (72 feet). While ships which displace up to 150000 tons can now transit the canal, after 2010 fully-laden supertankers will also be able to pass. At present supertankers have the option of transferring a portion of their cargo onto an Egyptian boat and then reloading after their canal transit. Incredibly, the

www.micro-flight.com Micro Helicopter, Sub-Micro, Pal-Size Not many people are aware this heli has been in existence since 2003. This heli is made in the USA by MIA Micro-FLIGHT. This is a builder’s kit, available from www.micro-flight.com Made from G10, Carbon, Stainless Steel and some Tough Plastic Molded components. This heli is very easy to asemble and setup, highly durable and extremely stable. Many of today’s similar size RC helis have been based on this particular MIA Sub-Micro heli, but none of them out there have the stability and durability this MIA helicopter has as can be appreciated in this early video.

Today we drove through a residential neighborhood in the Phoenix West Valley of Arizona. We noticed even more for sale signs sprouting up. There is no positive from what we can tell. Seems that the housing crisis is still full speed ahead. Real Estate crisis does not look to be recovering as we are noticing even more homes being abandoned or being placed on the market in hopes of a miracle. City ward map going to census review
The City of Lockport will hire the county’s redistricting consultant to advise whether the lines of its ward map need to be redrawn in light of the 2010 Census. City Attorney John Ottaviano asked the Common Council’s permission to pay the consultant, attorney J.R. What websites are there for boat cruises?

I inherited a motor sailor from my Greek uncle and I’m planning to use it as a cruise boat for small groups. It would sail the Greek seas. What websites are there where I could try to get my boat on if I want some bookings? As I understand it I also would need a broker. Any advice?

Ive been wanting to visit this adult fantasy land for sometime. However hadn’t had the money or time to do so until now. When is the best time to go when there aren’t many tourist and where can I find cheap flights flying out of Los Angeles? Everything Ive seen is at least $1000 or more. Can anyone help?
